Favr App

A simple way for neighbors to help each other.

Favr started during the pandemic, when a lot of people suddenly needed help and others needed ways to make some extra money. The idea was simple: connect people in the same community through small, everyday favors.

A small idea for a strange time, and still a favorite of mine.

How the idea works

Favr connects people who need a little help with people nearby who have the time to provide it.

Someone posts a favor, sets a price and people in the neighborhood can offer to help. Ratings add a layer of trust between people who may never have met before.

Categories

A favor could be almost anything: picking up groceries, walking a dog, assembling furniture, cleaning, making a delivery or helping with some yard work.

The categories weren't meant to define what people could ask for. They were simply a way to make nearby help easier to find.

Monetization

Favr takes a small percentage of each completed favor.

The person posting decides how much the favor is worth. Payment happens through the app, keeping the exchange simple for both sides.
